GENERAL attendance & TICKETING TERMS & CONDITIONS

THE TAROT FAYRE Terms & Conditions of Attendance & Participation & Disclaimer

Event date: 18th July 2026 Venue: St Augustine’s Church, Brighton

These terms and conditions are issued by the organisers of the Tarot Fayre. References to “the Tarot Fayre”, “the organisers”, “we”, or “us” throughout these terms refer to the Tarot Fayre event and its organising team collectively.

Please note: in the event that the date or venue changes due to postponement, cancellation, rescheduling, or any other reason, these terms and conditions remain in full force and effect regardless of whether the details above have been updated. The current version of these terms applies to your attendance or participation irrespective of any change to the date or venue.

For general enquiries, please contact us at hello@thetarotfayre.co.uk

PART ONE: PRE-BOOKED TALKS & WORKSHOP TICKETS

This section applies to tickets for talks and workshops purchased in advance via Eventbrite. If you hold a general entry ticket, attend on the door, or are a stallholder, reader, speaker, or volunteer, please proceed to Part Two.

Cancellations (Pre-booked talks & workshop ticket holders only)

Tickets may be cancelled within 48 hours of purchase for a refund, less a £10 administration fee. Booking fees are non-refundable. To cancel, please email hello@thetarotfayre.co.uk within 48 hours of your purchase, quoting your ticket reference number(s). Refunds will be processed within 7 days of confirmation.

Tickets purchased after 1st July 2026 are non-refundable. This date falls within 18 days of the event, and after this point all ticket sales are final. Any cancellation rights offered prior to this date are provided as a goodwill gesture and do not constitute a legal entitlement.

Transfers (Pre-booked talks & workshop ticket holders only)

Pre-booked tickets are transferable. If you are unable to attend, you may pass your ticket on to another person. Please notify us at hello@thetarotfayre.co.uk of any name changes at least 72 hours in advance of the event, or we may not be able to accommodate this. Tickets may not be resold for more than their original face value or for commercial gain.

Travel & Accommodation (Pre-booked talks & workshop ticket holders only)

Attendees are responsible for arranging their own travel and accommodation. The Tarot Fayre and its organisers shall not be liable for any costs incurred in relation to travel, accommodation, or other expenses, even in the event of postponement or cancellation of the event. We strongly recommend that you do not book non-refundable travel or accommodation until the event is confirmed as proceeding, and consider taking out appropriate travel insurance to cover any potential losses.

Event Cancellation, Postponement & Refunds (Pre-booked talks & workshop ticket holders only)

In the unlikely event that the Tarot Fayre is cancelled or rescheduled by the organisers prior to the event opening, a refund of the ticket face value less the booking fee will be issued to pre-booked ticket holders. We will contact all pre-booked ticket holders using the details provided at the time of purchase.

In the event of cancellation or disruption due to circumstances beyond our control (force majeure), including but not limited to extreme weather, natural disaster, government restriction, or venue closure, we will use reasonable endeavours to offer an alternative date, ticket transfer, or credit. Refunds will be considered in line with applicable consumer law.

In all cases, refunds will be limited to the face value of the ticket less the booking fee. No compensation will be provided for any associated costs or losses, including but not limited to travel, accommodation, or loss of earnings.

We reserve the right to make reasonable changes to the programme, including substituting or cancelling individual talks or workshops due to circumstances beyond our control such as speaker illness or unavailability. We will endeavour to provide suitable alternatives where possible. No refunds will be issued for changes to individual sessions within the programme.

Non-Attendance (Pre-booked talks & workshop ticket holders only)

Pre-booked talks and workshop tickets cover the full day programme. If you do not attend on the day, no refund or transfer will be issued. Non-attendance does not entitle the holder to any credit, exchange, or alternative.

Where an attendee has not presented their ticket by the advertised start time of any given session, the organiser reserves the right to resell or reallocate that place on the door without notice. Entry to a session already in progress may be refused at the discretion of the organiser or speaker. For the avoidance of doubt, resale or reallocation of a place due to non-attendance does not entitle the original ticket holder to any refund or compensation.

Talks and workshops: completely optional participation

Participation in all talks, workshops and activities is entirely optional. Attendees are free to leave any session at any time, or simply observe if they prefer not to participate. If you wish to leave during a session, please do so quietly where possible, or clearly let the speaker or facilitator know if you need assistance.

Talks and workshops: sensitive disclosures, workshop elements, the nature of the event, and attendee wellbeing

The Tarot Fayre is an adult public event featuring a range of independent speakers, workshops, demonstrations and spiritual activities. Attendees are responsible for considering whether the event, or any individual activity, is appropriate for them, having regard to their own physical health, mental wellbeing, personal circumstances, beliefs and sensitivities. Participation in all talks, workshops and activities is entirely voluntary, and attendees are free to observe, decline to participate, or leave any session at any time.

Talks and workshops may include discussion of spiritual beliefs, personal experiences, life events, relationships, bereavement, illness, healing practices, mediumship, intuition, trauma, loss, death and other subjects that some attendees may find emotionally sensitive or distressing. Speakers may also, from time to time, make spontaneous or unscripted personal disclosures where they consider these relevant to the topic being presented.

The Tarot Fayre is intended as an educational, cultural and community event. It is not intended to provide counselling, psychotherapy, grief support, crisis intervention, medical treatment or diagnosis, or any other clinical or therapeutic service. If an attendee becomes distressed or requires assistance, they should alert the speaker, workshop facilitator or a member of the event team.

Attendees should carefully consider whether any physical, spiritual, divinatory, meditative, breathing, visualisation, energy-based or other experiential activity is appropriate for them before choosing to participate. Participation is entirely voluntary, and attendees are encouraged to participate only to the extent they feel comfortable.

PART TWO: GENERAL TERMS (ALL ATTENDEES AND PARTICIPANTS)

These terms apply to all attendees and participants, including pre-booked ticket holders, pre-registered entry ticket holders, on the door attendees, stallholders, tarot readers, speakers, and volunteers. Pre-booked talks and workshop ticket holders are also bound by Part One above.

Who These Terms Apply To (All attendees & participants)

These terms and conditions apply to all persons attending or participating in the Tarot Fayre in any capacity, including:

    • Members of the public holding a pre-booked talks or workshop ticket purchased via the website or elsewhere (such as eventbrite)

    • Members of the public holding a pre-registered general entry ticket via Eventbrite, with any entry payment or donation made on the door on the day

    • Members of the public attending and paying, donating, or entering on the door without prior registration

    • Stallholders, tarot readers, speakers, and volunteers or anyone else attending in a participant capacity

Where a term applies to a specific group only, this is clearly indicated. Stallholders, speakers, and tarot readers are additionally bound by their individual agreements with the Tarot Fayre. Volunteers are additionally bound by any volunteer agreement issued in advance. In the event of conflict between these terms and any individual participant agreement, the individual agreement takes precedence. Terms relating to conduct, health & safety, photography, right of admission, and governing law apply to all attendees and participants regardless of any separate agreement.

Limitation of Liability & Organiser Responsibility (All attendees & participants)

The Tarot Fayre and its organisers shall not be held responsible for, and expressly disclaim liability for, any of the following, to the fullest extent permitted by law:

    • Any loss, damage, injury, illness, or death suffered by any attendee or participant during or in connection with the event, except where directly caused by the proven negligence of the organisers

    • Any loss or theft of personal property before, during, or after the event

    • Any interruption, curtailment, postponement, or cancellation of the event due to circumstances within or beyond our control, including but not limited to extreme weather, natural disaster, fire, power failure, venue failure, government restriction, or any other force majeure event

    • Any costs, losses, or expenses incurred by attendees or participants as a result of attending or preparing to attend the event, including but not limited to travel, accommodation, loss of earnings, or any other associated expenditure

    • Any advice, reading, product, service, or statement provided by any stallholder, reader, speaker, or other independent participant at the event

    • Any indirect, consequential, or economic loss, including loss of profits, revenue, or opportunity, arising from attendance at or participation in the event in any capacity

    • Any actions taken or not taken by any attendee or participant as a result of anything seen, heard, read, or experienced at the event

Nothing in these terms limits or excludes liability for death or personal injury caused by the negligence of the organisers, or for fraud or fraudulent misrepresentation. Your statutory rights are not affected.

Pre-Registered Entry Tickets (pre-registered entry ticket holders only)

Pre-registered entry tickets are issued via Eventbrite or elsewhere, and reserve your place for general admission to the Fayre. These are not paid for at the point of booking, hold no monetary value and are not subject to a cancellation or refund process. Any entry payment or donation is made on the door on the day. If you are no longer able to attend, no action is required, though we would appreciate notification where possible so we can manage capacity. Please notify us of any name changes at hello@thetarotfayre.co.uk so we can update our records.

In the event of cancellation or postponement, we will endeavour to notify pre-registered ticket holders using the contact details provided at registration. No financial compensation applies.

On the Door Attendance & Purchases (On the door attendees — all ticket types)

All entry, tickets, and purchases made on the door on the day of the event — including general admission (free, donation-based, or paid) and any talks or workshop tickets purchased on the door — are non-refundable once issued.

In the event that the event is interrupted, curtailed, or cancelled after doors have opened due to circumstances beyond our control (including but not limited to extreme weather, venue failure, power failure, fire, or any other force majeure event), no refund will be issued for on the door purchases or donations. We will make every reasonable effort to minimise disruption, but the organisers accept no liability whatsoever for partial or non-delivery of the event programme in such circumstances.

As no pre-payment is taken, cancellation prior to the event opening has no financial implications for on the door attendees. We will communicate any cancellation or postponement publicly as early as possible via our website and social media channels.

We reserve the right to refuse or delay entry on the door to the stallholder and reader area should the venue be over capacity, until the capacity has reached an acceptable legal level.

Participants — Stallholders, Speakers, Readers & Volunteers (Participants only)

Stallholders, speakers, and tarot readers attending as participants are bound by their individual agreements with the Tarot Fayre in addition to these terms and conditions. Where any conflict exists between these terms and a participant’s individual agreement, the individual agreement takes precedence.

Volunteers are bound by these terms and conditions and, where applicable, any volunteer agreement provided in advance of the event. Where a volunteer agreement has been issued, it should be read alongside these terms.

In all cases, terms relating to conduct, health & safety, photography, right of admission, and governing law apply to all participants regardless of any separate agreement. The Tarot Fayre and its organisers accept no liability for the actions, conduct, advice, or output of any independent participant.

Notification of cancellation or postponement will be made to participants as soon as reasonably practicable using the contact details held on file. Any financial implications for participants will be addressed under their individual agreements.

Respectful Conduct (All attendees & participants)

The Tarot Fayre is a welcoming and inclusive event. We ask that all attendees and participants treat one another, and all staff, readers, stallholders, speakers, and volunteers, with courtesy and respect at all times. Please be mindful of the spiritual and personal nature of tarot readings and the wider ethos of the event. Disruptive, aggressive, discriminatory, or disrespectful behaviour of any kind will not be tolerated and may result in removal from the event without refund or recourse. The organisers reserve the right to determine what constitutes unacceptable behaviour and their decision is final.

Age Policy (All attendees)

Attendees under the age of 18 may not participate in talks, tarot readings, or workshops. Well-behaved attendees aged 10 and over are welcome in the stallholder area when accompanied by a responsible adult. All under-18s must be supervised at all times. The organisers accept no responsibility for the supervision or welfare of unaccompanied minors.

Photography & Filming (All attendees & participants)

Photography and filming may be occurring on the day and is welcome throughout the general Fayre area. Images and footage may be used by the organisers to promote future events, including on social media, websites, and marketing materials. Please be respectful when photographing other attendees.

Tarot readings are private and must not be deliberately filmed or recorded. Readers and reading areas may incidentally appear in the background of photographs taken in the general Fayre area. Talks and workshops may not be recorded by attendees without the express prior permission of the speaker or organiser.

If you do not wish to appear in photographs as the main subject, please notify a member of the team on the day. We are unable to guarantee exclusion from incidental or background photography. If you appear in a photo posted on our official Tarot Fayre channels and would like it removed, please contact us at hello@thetarotfayre.co.uk and we will action this promptly. The organisers accept no liability for photography or filming carried out by other attendees or participants.

This applies equally to all attendees and participants, including stallholders, readers, speakers, and volunteers.

Health & Safety (All attendees & participants)

All attendees and participants are responsible for their own personal wellbeing throughout the event. In the event of a medical emergency, please notify a member of staff immediately, who will contact the emergency services if necessary. The Tarot Fayre and its organisers accept no responsibility for any illness, injury, or adverse health event suffered during or in connection with the event, except where directly caused by the proven negligence of the organisers.

Nothing in these terms limits or excludes liability for death or personal injury caused by the negligence of the organisers, or for fraud or fraudulent misrepresentation.

Smoking & Vaping (All attendees & participants)

Smoking and vaping are not permitted anywhere within the event venue. Please follow any designated smoking areas signposted by the venue. The organisers accept no liability for any loss, fine, or consequence arising from failure to comply with this or the venue’s own policies.

Alcohol (All attendees & participants)

The Tarot Fayre is a non-licensed event. Alcohol is not available for purchase at the event and may not be brought onto the premises by any attendee or participant. Any person found to be in possession of alcohol on site, or appearing to be under the influence of alcohol, may be refused entry or removed from the event without refund or recourse.

Animals (All attendees & participants)

Assistance dogs are warmly welcome at the Tarot Fayre. No other animals are permitted. The organisers accept no responsibility for any incident involving an assistance dog or its owner.

Accessibility (All attendees)

The Tarot Fayre aims to be accessible and inclusive. The main stallholder area, toilets, cafe and talks in the altar room are wheelchair accessible, although some areas of the venue may have limited accessibility due to the nature of the building.

We will do our best to support attendees with accessibility requirements and to make reasonable adjustments where possible. If you have any specific access needs, please contact us in advance at hello@thetarotfayre.co.uk so we can discuss how we may be able to assist.

While we cannot guarantee that every session or area will be fully accessible, we are committed to working with attendees to improve access wherever reasonably practicable.

Data & Privacy (All attendees & participants)

By registering for, purchasing a ticket for, or attending the event in any capacity, you agree to your contact details being stored and used to communicate with you regarding the event and updates about future Tarot Fayre events. We do not sell your data and only share it with trusted service providers where necessary to operate the event. You may opt out of future communications at any time by contacting us at hello@thetarotfayre.co.uk. Your data is handled in accordance with UK GDPR. The organisers accept no liability for any data breach or loss arising from the actions of third party service providers.

Readings & Products — Stallholder Disclaimer (All attendees)

Stallholders operate as independent practitioners and traders. The Tarot Fayre and its organisers accept no liability whatsoever for any reading, product, advice, or service provided at any stall or by any independent participant. Any concerns should be raised directly with the stallholder in the first instance.

Readings (All attendees)

All readings are for over-18s only and are provided for entertainment and self-reflection purposes only. No supernatural ability is claimed or implied. Readings are not a substitute for professional medical, legal, financial, or psychological advice. The Tarot Fayre and its organisers accept no responsibility whatsoever for any action taken or not taken as a result of a reading received at the event.

Products (All attendees)

Products are sold as curios and/or handmade goods. Stallholders are required by their individual agreements not to make supernatural, therapeutic, or medicinal claims about their products. The Tarot Fayre and its organisers accept no liability for any claims made by individual stallholders regarding their products, or for any loss, damage, or harm arising from the purchase or use of any product obtained at the event. Please follow any safety instructions provided and keep all products out of reach of children.

Talks & Workshops (All attendees; refund terms apply to pre-booked ticket holders only — see Part One)

Opinions and views expressed during talks and workshops are those of the individual speakers and do not represent the views or positions of the Tarot Fayre or its organisers. We accept no liability whatsoever for the content of any talk or workshop or for any action taken or not taken as a result of attending one.

Free, donation-based, and on the door attendees are not entitled to financial redress in such circumstances.

Personal Property & Lost Property (All attendees & participants)

The Tarot Fayre and its organisers accept no responsibility whatsoever for the loss or theft of personal property during the event. All attendees and participants are advised to take care of their belongings at all times. Any lost property not claimed before the close of the event will be handed in to the venue. For lost property enquiries after the event, please liaise directly with St Augustine’s Church, Brighton.

Raffle (All attendees)

All raffle decisions are final and the organisers accept no liability in connection with the raffle or its prizes. Prizes must be claimed before the close of the event on the day. Any prizes not collected within 14 days of the event may be forfeited. We are unable to post prizes to recipients.

Complaints (All attendees & participants)

Any complaints or concerns regarding the event should be submitted by email to hello@thetarotfayre.co.uk ASAP or within 28 days of the event. We will endeavour to respond promptly. The organisers accept no liability for any loss arising from a failure to respond within any particular timeframe.

Right of Admission & Removal (All attendees & participants)

We reserve the right to refuse entry to or remove any person from the event at any time, without refund or recourse. This applies to all attendees and participants, including stallholders, readers, speakers, and volunteers. Grounds include but are not limited to:

    • Disruptive, aggressive, discriminatory, or disrespectful behaviour towards staff, readers, stallholders, volunteers, or other attendees

    • Possession of or appearing to be under the influence of alcohol or drugs

    • Previous breach of terms at this or any of our events

    • Failure to provide valid proof of purchase or registration

    • Breach of any individual participant agreement

The organisers reserve the right to determine what constitutes unacceptable behaviour and their decision is final. The organisers accept no liability for any loss, cost, or consequence arising from the exercise of this right.

General (All attendees & participants)

By purchasing, registering for, accepting, or using a ticket, or by attending or participating in the event in any capacity, you agree to these terms and conditions in full. Tickets and registrations remain the property of the organisers and may be withdrawn at any time without notice in the event of a breach of these terms, including but not limited to:

    • Disruptive or aggressive behaviour towards staff, readers, stallholders, volunteers, or other attendees

    • Attempting to gain entry to areas not covered by your ticket or registration

    • Reselling tickets for profit or above face value

    • Providing false information at the time of purchase or registration

    • Selling or offering services at the event without being a registered participant
  • Dogs

Assistance dogs are always welcome. Pet dogs are not permitted for attendees unless agreed with the organisers in advance. However, please note the venue itself permits dogs, and public, non-event areas of the venue will be open throughout the day, so there may be some dogs walking through the venue. All dogs will remain on a lead and under their owners’ control at all times.

At the July 2026 event, one exhibitor will be accompanied by a small, well behaved pet dog, and a second calm dog may be present for a short period during the day in the talks room. All dogs will remain on a lead and under their owners’ control at all times.

If you have any concerns, allergies, or require any assistance, please contact us before the event and we’ll do our best to help.

Governing Law (All attendees & participants)

These terms and conditions are governed by the laws of England and Wales. Any disputes arising out of or in connection with these terms shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of England and Wales. If you are a consumer, you may also have rights under the law of the country in which you are ordinarily based, which these terms do not seek to override or exclude.

Changes to These Terms (All attendees & participants)

We reserve the right to update or amend these terms and conditions at any time without prior notice. The current version will always supersede any previous versions. We recommend checking our website or contacting us at hello@thetarotfayre.co.uk for the most up to date version prior to attending the event. In the event that the event date or venue changes for any reason, these terms remain in full force and effect whether or not the event details at the top of this document have been updated to reflect that change.

How is the event organised?

While this is a privately organised event, it has been designed with the wider tarot community in mind. Alongside talks, workshops, and celebration, we’re supporting initiatives that promote connection, visibility for creators, and opportunities for the community to grow and flourish.

Thank you and we can’t wait to welcome you on the day. If you have any questions, please email hello@thetarotfayre.co.uk

These terms were updated 4th August 2026. Prior version available on request.
